To address the potential challenge of significant temperature differences (>50°C) between the shell and the heat exchange tubes, which can lead to thermal stress (heat stress), strategic solutions are in place.

For optimal performance, expansion joints are incorporated into the shell to regulate and limit the pressure on the shell side, safeguarding against any potential damage. This sophisticated design is ideal for scenarios where the shell side fluid remains clean and free from scaling, the temperature variance between the two fluids is manageable, or if present, the shell side pressure remains modest.
